    National Night Out

    Residents in neighborhoods all over Jacksonville
    participated in the 19th annual National Night Out.
    The event focuses attention on Neighborhood Watch,
    a grassroots element of the fight against crime.

    The Zone 6 Sheriff's Advisory Council, in conjunction with Nemours Children's Hospital Teddy Bear Affair, presents the third annual Community Safety Affair.

    Talk to your police

    Signal 94
    , the JSO's cable television show, lets you talk to your police. At 5:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month, Signal 94
    will be live. Sheriff Glover and other guests will be in the studio to respond to viewer phone calls.

    (A tape of the show will air at 8:30.)

    Concerns of Police Survivors

    Concerns of Police Survivors, also known as COPS, provides resources to assist in rebuilding the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.     Do the Right Thing

    79 PERCENT SATISFIED WITH POLICE
    SURVEY SAYS

    A public opinion poll commissioned by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office showed that nearly four of five city residents gave good marks for local police.

    The annual survey, which was started in 1992, is part of the Sheriff's Office reaccreditation process. It was conducted by Jacksonville-based American Public Dialogue, which interviewed 538 adults Dec. 9-11.

    3,300,000 Bologna Sandwiches
    In his 1995 campaign, Sheriff Nat Glover promised to serve bologna sandwiches to sentenced inmates in Jacksonville jails.
    3,300,000 sandwiches have been served as of June 30, 2002.
